New Whitepaper: Kenya’s Innovation Paradox

Kenya is widely recognised as Africa’s Silicon Savannah, yet many promising digital and green innovations have not achieved the scale needed to transform entire sectors. Why is that?

This new whitepaper, developed through the Digital and Green Innovation (DGI) Action, explores the opportunities and systemic barriers shaping Kenya’s innovation ecosystem. Drawing on insights from more than 67 entrepreneurs, investors, entrepreneurship support organisations and policymakers, the research shows that scaling the twin transition requires more than supporting individual innovators. It calls for coordinated action on policy, finance, market development and ecosystem collaboration.

The whitepaper identifies agriculture, waste management and renewable energy as key sectors where partnerships between Team Europe and local stakeholders can accelerate inclusive, sustainable growth.
