Access to finance remains one of the biggest challenges for agripreneurs in Côte d’Ivoire. Many promising agribusinesses struggle not because they lack vision or potential, but because they face barriers in navigating financial systems, understanding investor requirements and preparing investment-ready business cases. Harvest Finance aims to change that.
Empowering agripreneurs through knowledge and tools
Our Harvest Finance initiative with Comoé Capital is designed to enhance financial access for MSMEs and startups in the Ivorian agribusiness sector. The project focuses on building entrepreneurs’ capacity to secure the funding they need to scale. By offering clear guidance on available financing options and teaching the “how to” of becoming investment-ready, it seeks to close critical knowledge gaps that often hold businesses back.
At the core of the initiative is a practical Access to Finance roadmap, a step-by-step guide tailored specifically to agripreneurs. Written in clear and accessible language, the roadmap features visuals, infographics and user-friendly formats to ensure inclusiveness across literacy levels. Complementing this guide is a financial toolkit containing templates, checklists and practical resources to support entrepreneurs throughout their fundraising journey. Both are expected to become available early next year, accessible to the larger public.
To reinforce learning, the project will also provide an interactive e-training course, helping entrepreneurs build financial literacy and apply best practices for securing follow-up financing.
Strengthening the agribusiness ecosystem
This initiative builds on insights from the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF) and supports our long-term objective of increasing follow-up financing for Orange Corners-supported entrepreneurs. By offering tools that can be integrated directly into the programme, Harvest Finance adds long-lasting value to the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem in Côte d’Ivoire. By equipping agripreneurs with the right knowledge, skills and tools, Harvest Finance aims to boost financial inclusion and unlock new growth opportunities in the agribusiness sector.
