Ilyes Saidani and Grow It Yourself: leading the way in hydroponic farming in Tunisia

Meet Ilyes Saidani. As the co-founder of Grow It Yourself, he’s transforming agriculture in Tunisia with innovative hydroponic and soil-free farming techniques.

As part of their mission to promote sustainable farming, Ilyes and his team design, install and maintain ready-to-use hydroponic systems that not only enable pesticide-free food production, but also reduce water consumption and boost production by up to 10 times. Through tailored training in both urban and rural areas, GIY helps local communities grow by teaching people the skills they need to embrace modern farming.

Ilyes: “The environmental and food challenges North Africa faces can’t be overcome without improving our traditional agricultural techniques. Drought, soil degradation, increasing population and food needs… Modern farming offers solutions and GIY aims to be a regional leader in promoting them!”

We’re proud to support GIY as part of our Orange Corners Innovation Fund Tunisia Cohort 1 with Lab’ess, where the startup received investment to scale its impact and lead the way in promoting modern farming in Tunisia.
