Ghana: Launch Green, Digital and Inclusive Private Sector Development (GDI PSD) Project

Last week, we officially launched the Green, Digital and Inclusive Private Sector Development (GDI PSD) Project in Ghana! Valued at €17.3 million, this groundbreaking initiative is co-financed by the EU, the Netherlands and France, and is set to support transformation of Ghana’s private sector through green, digital and inclusive solutions.

Led by the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry (MoTAI) and implemented by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency/Orange Corners, Expertise France and United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), this project aims to foster a greener, more digital and inclusive economy across multiple sectors including creative industries, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

Key outcomes of the GDI PSD Project include:

  • Better access to inclusive finance for digital, green and circular initiatives.
  • Stronger business regulations to foster sustainable growth.
  • Boosted entrepreneurial capacity to adopt green and digital technologies.

Over the next four years, the project is set to impact over 900 entrepreneurs, helping more than 200 businesses integrate green and digital measures into their operations. Special focus will be placed on supporting female entrepreneurship, with the goal of empowering at least 300 women-led ventures.

The event also celebrated the graduation of Orange Corners Ghana Cohort 11, with 16 talented Ghanaian businesses recognised for their innovative work across various industries.

And even better: thanks to the support from the European Union Delegation to Ghana, we’re expanding the programme with new cohorts in Kumasi and Tamale, empowering even more entrepreneurs across the country!
