To become successful entrepreneurs, young people must have access to the right skills, resources and fair access to financial institutions. This is not automatically guaranteed for young entrepreneurs in general, and even less so for female entrepreneurs.
Our youth employment and entrepreneurship programmes are rooted in a strong commitment to gender equity. Across all our projects, we recognise and respond to the different needs of men and women – ensuring that both benefit equally and that no one is disadvantaged.
Our mission is to actively engage both women and men in advancing gender equity. We achieve this by:
- Facilitating open dialogue on gender dynamics
- Building knowledge and skills to help women overcome systemic barriers
- Increasing awareness of opportunities for female entrepreneurs and amplifying their visibility
- Creating support networks and mentorship opportunities
- Applying a gender lens to every stage of our programmes and initiatives
For example, through initiatives like PowHER! and OC4Her our female incubatees and aspiring entrepreneurs learn how to navigate social and cultural barriers while building critical entrepreneurial capabilities. We also organise events that connect young women entrepreneurs with established female role models, fostering learning and mentorship. Our Alumni Accelerator Women’s Circles further cultivate these connections, bringing women together from across our entire network.
Through these efforts and more, we aim to foster an inclusive environment where all entrepreneurs can thrive – regardless of their gender.
